Why?!
I slept for about 6 hours and woke up a little past midnight feeling, well refreshed. Grant it I was still slightly sleepy. So, when I was just about to fall asleep watching some sort of educational cartoon on Discovery Kids (Tutenstein, maybe?) I was suddenly reawokened out of my daze with a, “Your site has been hacked.”
Hacked. What an awful crime. It’s like tagging except more infuriating. People go about their business expecting that their websites to be fully functional and viewable in all of its glory 24/7 unless their server crashes for some ungodly reason. Webmasters put in a lot of effort and time into creating that perfect layout that they can be proud of and also to write all the content that goes into every site. Blogs are a bit more precious simply because most people don’t keep a backup of most of their content which would be their posts. Sure you can just restart, but if you lost your layout, then you’re going to be spending another day or two to have your site viewable.

I was worried about not being able to log back in to Wordpress because I’ve never been hacked before. Wordpress has been pushing about upgrading to the newer version which is supposed to be more secure. I was going to do it in another day or two after I had gone through and made sure that the Beautiful Addiction Blog looked exactly how I wanted it to be. Looks like I’ll be updating sooner than expected. So, my question to you is: What do you think of hackers? Have you ever had anybody hack into your website? And I’m also curious to know if blocking their IP might help anything?

I noticed that page as well and I was like what is it??? I have no idea why people do it but i think it’s to annoy people just the way that viruses can really destroy your computer and it’s all for someones entertainment.
Thankfully I haven’t been hacked yet but I know one day that I will. I hate hackers the same way that I hate Viruses and I can’t believe that there is even a book in my libaray, ‘Hackers for dummies.’ Blocking their IP might work but at the same time, if they are a good hacker they might be able to get past the whole IP block although Im not too sure if they can do that.
Happy new year and may 2008 rid you of hackers.
