Since I’ve moved into my current house 8 or 9 years ago with my family, my furnishings have barely - if ever - changed. After watching a couple of “help me organize my house!” programs, staring at the devastation of my room, and then finally seeing a Bed Bath and Beyond ad a couple days ago I went out and bought new furniture for my room. My hope is that one day soon, my room will be as professionally organized as those amazing “help me organize my house!” programs I watched a little over a year ago. I ran out yesterday after flipping through the Bed Bath and Beyond ad and bought six new pieces of furniture!! I ended up buying a new nightstand, computer desk, TV stand, media tower, and two bookshelves. All of that was supposed to replace my old nightstand, TV stand, computer desk, and bookshelf.

After my uber wonderful dad finished assembling all of the furniture, I set out to work! I had piled everything within a corner of my room before, so my room was even more cluttered than usual. But once everything was put up and cleaned, I actually have more space! With the two bookshelves I bought, I managed to eliminate the use of the bookshelf I wanted to get rid of plus a shelf or two from the one I kept.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I forgot to take a before snap of the clutter that was once known as my computer desk. You can see the edge of it in the before shot.

Still, that means I have to refurnish the other half of my room. But that’s not going to happen within a day like this half. No. I need a week or two to refurnish my wallet before I buy anything major anytime soon.
