I don’t publicly announce my real name on the internet, so for a while I used to be called Meilin, for lack of imagination. I decided to change my internet alias to Delia, which was the Latin name I picked out to be called in Latin class, because Meilin was unimaginative and in a way, childish. I haven’t done much research on the name, Delia, but I think it might pertain to the goddess of the moon. At the time, I had no idea. It just sounded pretty and someone had already taken Aurora. ^_^;

My family means a lot to me, and I’m quite attached to them. I’ve grown up in a small family of four, with me being the oldest between my brother and me. My father served the U.S. Army for seven years, but he’s the comedian of the family. My mother immigrated from South Korea, so I’m quite accustomed to Korean food. Sadly, my stomach is too weak and anything remotely spicy (i.e. kimchi) is out of the question for me. Growing up, we’ve had a ton of dogs come and go. There have been various reasons for getting rid of the dogs (destructive nature, hard to control, shedding problems, etc.) but I assure you, they all managed to get good homes. Though we’ve had tons of dogs come and go, we seem to have always had at least one boxer. Our current dog situation: a boxer, a miniature schnauzer, and a soft-coated Wheaton terrier.

I’ve had a love for Disney films (especially the animated films) since I was tiny. There’s a picture of me at the age of three with a Little Mermaid cake, but the movie that’s had the most influence on me and by far my most favorite is Beauty and the Beast. Like Belle, I have a love of books and I long to find my own exciting adventure. My love for literature goes as far to writing. I enjoy writing and it’s my mission in life to become a published author. Besides literature, I also enjoy a love for anime and manga. Like my love for Disney, my infatuation with anime started when I was a young girl (maybe around 5?) when I watched Speed Racer. I didn’t actively seek anime until shortly after Toonami launched in 1997.

I think I began web designing around 13. My friend had introduced the concept to me shortly after I had gotten the internet, and I’ve been addicted to it ever since. I knew after seeing some awesome fansites — most of them are dead now T_T — that I wanted to create one for myself. My first website was called, Ultimate Anime Palace that housed various information on various anime. It was the stepping stone to my current anime fansite, Beautiful Addiction.
