Fly Me Away!

June 30th, 2008

I’ll be honest. I was a little hesitant when my dad said he was taking us to see to the National Air Force Museum for today because my mom has a tendency to run through them. ^_^; However, she didn’t this time, so we ended up taking a nice stroll through the museum. This was my first time at the museum in about 8-9 years. There were some planes that I recognized immediately, and others…not so much. I should have an operable gallery opened on our little rendezvous before the week is through. I just need to figure out which of the 163 pictures are worthy enough to place for public viewing. X__X

After spending about 2 hours in the museum (I know, but it’s so big! and interesting!) we went out and watched WALL•E. I had been wanting to watch that movie since I first saw the trailer way back during Ratatouille. Why? Because WALL•E is like some sort of odd hybrid between E.T. and R.O.B. (from Super Smash Bros. Brawl fame) and that makes him adorable! Though the movie lacked much dialogue, I still absolutely loved it. It is, as of now, my most favorite Pixar movie yet! Hey, the lack of speech worked for Bambi, right? I also loved how Otto (the “villain”) resembled HAL (2001: Space Odyssey) and they even integrated some of that music into WALL•E! What was interesting to see was the live-action integration they used. But what I love most about this movie is the amazing characterization of WALL•E. He doesn’t say much (I think the only words that came out of his voice box were: Eve, directive, plant, and Earth) but you still cheer him on. I was so moved by him, and I wanted him to succeed so much, that I nearly cried. Sad, I know. -_-

A few days ago, I finally bought a Nintendo DS! It’s so pretty and red.   The cashier at the local game store gave me the Dalmation and friends version of Nintendogs a couple years back. But since I didn’t think that game would appeal to me, I went out and bought Pokemon Pearl to amuse me. I did end up playing Nintendogs and am hopelessly in love with Michiro, my beloved boxer puppy. I couldn’t think of a name for her, and that was the first girl name I heard on T.V. I later learned that they were really saying Michiru, but Michiro sounds cuter somehow.

The current avatar is a picture of me at the museum. I was attempting to be “tough” next to Donald Duck (he was painted on a plane). By the time the photo was snapped, I was laughing too much to look tough and even my fist looks weak. XD The words, “Let’s make a deal!” were painted beside Donald.
