I’ll be honest. I was a little hesitant when my dad said he was taking us to see to the National Air Force Museum for today because my mom has a tendency to run through them.
However, she didn’t this time, so we ended up taking a nice stroll through the museum. This was my first time at the museum in about 8-9 years. There were some planes that I recognized immediately, and others…not so much. I should have an operable gallery opened on our little rendezvous before the week is through. I just need to figure out which of the 163 pictures are worthy enough to place for public viewing.
After spending about 2 hours in the museum (I know, but it’s so big! and interesting!) we went out and watched WALL•E. I had been wanting to watch that movie since I first saw the trailer way back during Ratatouille. Why? Because WALL•E is like some sort of odd hybrid between E.T. and R.O.B. (from Super Smash Bros. Brawl fame) and that makes him adorable! Though the movie lacked much dialogue, I still absolutely loved it. It is, as of now, my most favorite Pixar movie yet! Hey, the lack of speech worked for Bambi, right? I also loved how Otto (the “villain”) resembled HAL (2001: Space Odyssey) and they even integrated some of that music into WALL•E! What was interesting to see was the live-action integration they used. But what I love most about this movie is the amazing characterization of WALL•E. He doesn’t say much (I think the only words that came out of his voice box were: Eve, directive, plant, and Earth) but you still cheer him on. I was so moved by him, and I wanted him to succeed so much, that I nearly cried. Sad, I know.
A few days ago, I finally bought a Nintendo DS! It’s so pretty and red.
The cashier at the local game store gave me the Dalmation and friends version of Nintendogs a couple years back. But since I didn’t think that game would appeal to me, I went out and bought Pokemon Pearl to amuse me. I did end up playing Nintendogs and am hopelessly in love with Michiro, my beloved boxer puppy. I couldn’t think of a name for her, and that was the first girl name I heard on T.V. I later learned that they were really saying Michiru, but Michiro sounds cuter somehow.
The current avatar is a picture of me at the museum. I was attempting to be “tough” next to Donald Duck (he was painted on a plane). By the time the photo was snapped, I was laughing too much to look tough and even my fist looks weak.
The words, “Let’s make a deal!” were painted beside Donald.
Last week I finally managed to get my hands on the special edition of Eclipse. I didn’t buy it, I was curious about the special features and now I want Breaking Dawn even more! The book comes with two T-shirt transfers that state: Team Jacob and Team Edward. So you can sport what team you’re on! Although I didn’t read it, the first chapter of Breaking Dawn is also included. Trust me, if I did read it, I would have had a major fangirl spazz moment in the middle of a grocery store. We did not want or need that.
The small squeal I did emit; however, was from the last feature included in the special edition: the poster. The “poster” is on the back of the book jacket. It reveals the Breaking Dawn cover (which is conveniently on the left) along with a small excerpt from the book.
“Don’t be afraid,” I murmured. “We belong together.”
I was abruptly overwhelmed by the truth of my own words. This moment was so perfect, so right, there was no way to doubt it. His arms wrapped around me, holding me against him…
“Forever,” he agreed.
That excerpt along with the intriguing cover (a queen with a red pawn) questions what’s going to happen to Bella. Will she be a vampire? What’s the significance of the queen? Her official website states that they won’t have anything on the meaning of the cover until Breaking Dawn is released.
Borders has an exclusive interview with Stephenie Meyer which can be found here. The interview is about Eclipse.
Also, Stephenie Meyer has announced that Midnight Sun, Edward’s POV on Twilight will be her next project. I haven’t heard of any plans on her writing the entire series in his POV, but it sounds interesting.
Apparently when I say I’ll be gone for a day or two, that translates to about a week. This layout was technically finished and polished within a day or two, but I wanted to fix the avatar page and ended up downloading a ton of plugins.
I added 3 brand new avatars and shortly before disappearing, I added a new flash fiction: Foolish.
I absolutely love this layout. Because I’m on a huge vampire kick right now (I’ll explain later) I decided to go with a vampire layout instead of a layout I would’ve created from scratch. I customized nearly everything I could think of, thereby making this layout my most graphic heavy layout. So, what do you think? Do you think this layout was worth waiting a week for?
OK, so because of Twilight, I’ve been reacquainted with my favorite “monster”: the vampire. This has caused me to create this particular layout — the Favole artwork by Victoria Frances has a vampire theme — as well as watch anything remotely related to vampires. I have finally finished watching the series Moonlight, which CBS canceled earlier this year much to my dismay. This was a vampire romance drama where the private investigator vampire, Mick St. John, was turned by his new bride, Caroline, 55 years prior. He eventually falls for a mortal woman, Beth Turner, and between investigations we watch their relationship unfold. Of course the vampires in this show are different from Twilight; one sparkles in the sun, the other just feels weak; one turns a human as soon as they drink their blood, the other doesn’t; and there are a few more differences. The show ended at an interesting turn of events, and hopefully the producers will find a network that will take the show on. If any of the network executives knew about Twilight’s fanbase, I’m pretty sure they’d be interested in obtaining a vampire drama, right? I’m surprised SciFi hasn’t picked it up yet. Besides Moonlight, I still need to finish a vampire anime, Moonphase. So many vampires, so little time.
